Nothing says “Fuck You, Here’s My Non-Apology” like a coupon.

It’s the most effective way of showing how little you care.

So that guy that got fired at Time Warner Cable for giving a free pay per view movie to sports fans that lost an hour of the Superbowl got a new job.

At Chevron.

When my second son was born, right as I was ready to start pushing, there was a fire and the entire wing of the hospital complex we were in had to be evacuated. The frantic resident kept banging my gurney into walls and doorways as I was wheeled (yeah, with my legs spread…..) through hallway after hallway. My son was born in a surgical room with no equipment specific to maternity issues——-there was not even a scale to weigh him. Fortunately everything turned out OK.

When, the next day, I received an Oreo Twinpack “for my inconvenience” all I could think was WTF!

“In Pennsylvania and around the world Chevron puts the environment and safety of it’s employees first. We like to think of ourselves as “family” and just neighbors and regular folks you would have a beer with and maybe a slice of pizza or two. We understand there was an explosion at one of our extraction pads, and unfortunately, one of valued employees was killed in the blast. We would bet, God rest his soul. that he was just like you and me. So to commemorate that horrible day and take some of the sting out, how about we just act like neighbors and get you a pizza. Soda pop too. Can’t give you beer…..That’s, uh, we can’t neighbor! I should add there are 3 free toppings too. So just a little gesture from us all here at Chevron. Shit happens. Enjoy the pies. They’re SAFE! LOL! See you all on Monday.”
